Everyone’s going to have differing opinions on that controversial issue, naturally, and there’s only one way for the web to settle it: with a meme-off. the most important similarity is the choosing of the four champions for the triwizard tournament from the goblet of fire. For me, Harry Potter achieved this in a way that no other series ever has. ![]() Super fans being the persnickety forum whiners they are, it’s darn tough for a movie adaption to do the source material justice. ![]() The movies, I guess you could say, are the franchise’s most magical achievement of all. ![]() Not to mention the super successful movie franchise. There are eight Harry Potter films, and three instalments in the Fantastic Beasts saga to date, all set decades before Harry, Ron and Hermiones adventures at Hogwarts. The books, the whole multifaceted world that sprang from them… it’s a remarkable achievement. It was a battle to get it published, which is often cited as an inspiring lesson in persistence (we’re talking Shia LaBeouf levels of inspiration here). Rowling didn’t expect very much from the first instalment, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. From its humble beginnings, an equally humble writer brought the world far more than she expected.
